Mixing

Mixing at SoundStudio412 goes beyond balance and polish — it’s about emotion, impact, and connection. Garrett’s hybrid approach blends the warmth and character of analog gear with the clarity and control of a modern DAW-based setup.

Garrett is incredibly kind and thoughtful. He has a great ear for mixing and audio production.
I’ve worked with him for close to a decade now on multiple different projects. He always has interesting ideas and techniques to bring out the best in me and other musicians we’ve worked with.
I would recommend him to anyone looking for a talented and insightful Mix Engineer with a laid-back personality.
— Tom Osmunson

Every mix starts with intention: understanding what the artist is trying to say and shaping the sound to match. Whether you need a gritty indie rock mix, lush acoustic textures, or a hard-hitting modern production, Garrett brings 25+ years of experience across genres to help your track land with weight and clarity.

You’ll get:

  • A powerful, engaging mix that feels true to your vision

  • Optional analog mix path for added depth and harmonic richness

  • Stems and instrumental versions available on request

  • Optional real-time remote collaboration via ListenTo and Google Meet

Garrett approaches every project with an artist’s ear and a producer’s mindset, delivering mixes that feel intentional, alive, and true to your vision.

Music Composition & Sound Design

Whether you're starting with a voice memo or a fully formed idea, Garrett brings over two decades of experience helping artists develop songs from scratch or elevate existing material. This includes writing original instrumental music, arranging parts to support vocals, and crafting unique sonic textures that give your project depth and personality.

Services include:

  • Co-writing and arrangement support

  • Custom composition for sync, podcasts, or film

  • Designing mood-driven layers using analog synths, samples, and effect chains

  • Creating transitions, risers, and other sound design elements for intros, interludes, and outros

This is ideal for artists looking to add depth, motion, and texture to their music — as well as for creatives needing original, licensable compositions for media. Whether you need subtle production enhancement or full compositional development, SoundStudio412 offers a collaborative space to shape the sounds that tell your story.

Studio Musicians

Need drums, bass, keys, or guitar? Garrett plays all of them — and regularly helps artists bring their songs to life by building custom backing tracks that serve the project’s vision — one of his favorite parts of the production process.

Garrett’s musical background allows for quick, intuitive performance and arrangement. If a track needs something extra — a rhythmic lift, a subtle texture, a melodic hook — he can create it on the spot with feel and intention, keeping momentum high and the process efficient.

And when a specialized touch is needed, SoundStudio412 works with a tight-knit group of trusted session players who can deliver high-quality performances tailored to your style.

From foundation to final polish, this is about supporting your sound — and getting there efficiently.
